Finally finished the 24 exposures roll of Elitechrome on the Elikon 525 and got it cross-processed. After the initial screw-up where I probably lost a couple of frames, I did a pretty fast test on it while easily burning the entire roll of film.
How do I find the camera? A couple of hiccups which I guess is not because of the camera design itself. Firstly, the film counter wasn’t working (which is no problem to me). Secondly, the film advance wheel. It takes quite a bit of effort advancing it, maybe it needs a drink (of lubrication) or two.
Focusing wasn’t a problem as it has only the basic ‘one person’, ‘few people’ and the ‘mountain’ icons to indicate the approximate distance. Changing of the aperture values proves to be a bit challenging for my fat (and clumsy?) fingers but somehow I got used to it. Here are some photos from the test roll (pardon my fat finger in the photo below)
The lens might not be of the same quality (or lack of it) as the one on the LC-A but the results show that it is capable of producing punchy constrasty colors, as well is the slight vignetting that we love (or hate?). Now I guess I’ll go bug my friend to sell this camera to me!
