Fuzzy all over again …

It was the Lensbaby that got me interested in fuzzy, blurred, screwed-up and often frowned upon type of photography. After a long break from using that awesome lens, it was a great opportunity to let it go wild again when I decided to bring Fitzand to the 2007 Lantern Festival held here in the Chinese Garden in Singapore. The theme this year is ‘F8 – Hello Kitty Go Races!’, so I know it was a great chance to see some ultra cute and colourful designs instead of the traditional (yawn!) laterns.

Did not take too many shots as I had to carry Fitzand around most of the time (not sure why but he doesn’t really like his mommy or the maid to carry him when out playing … maybe they move like a trishaw while daddy (despite his old breaking bones) moves and entertains like a ferris wheel on steriod.

Fitzand had big fun staring at those cute colorful giant lanterns, either on the green or floating in those lakes. He even got to touch the real ‘lions’ prior to a lion dance performance, as well as pounding on some small versions of those traditional Chinese drums. You should have seen the way he layed his hands on them! While other kids were standing still beating the drums, he was pounding on them like a drummer from some metal band!!

Hope next year there will be more fun theme. Guess I’ll have to bring Fitzand alone to the next one though, as his mommy was complaining that ‘they all look the same’. Eh damn … there are probably hundreds of those cool lanterns and she says they’re all the same? I swear I didn’t drink that night and there were really many different cute and awesome designs. Oh well … nevermind. Duh!
