Told myself that I’ll stop buying cameras for a while but … saw these two old cameras for sale at the price of some tens each. I’ve always wanted the Kodak Brownie but those in e(vil)Bay are sometimes pretty expensive and not to mention the shipping charges. These two cameras has no shutter speed or aperture control. The Kodak Brownie Hawkeye’s aperture is actually about f/22 and the single shutter speed is between 1/30 and 1/60 of a second and was manufactured from 1949 through 1961 (which makes it much older than I am!) Unfortunately they both take 620 film which is unavailable anymore and I’ll have to try respooling 120 film soon (based on some online instructions). The Argus 75 was made from 1958 through 1964. Strangely, the viewfinder is very bright compared to the other cheapo TLRs I own. From photos online, they both look pretty huge and boxy … but in actual fact … the height of the Brownie is close to the size of a pack of cigarette and the Argus is just slightly taller! As a matter of fact, they look really cute!
ahah.. very nice! nice!
the argus looks damn sexy….
I own the brownie with flash model but gave it away. You made me want it back! 🙁
Cin, if you had given yours to me, I could easily return it back to you. You might wanna consider giving me your other cameras in future. 😛
