I’ve never heard of zone plates my whole life until Lensbaby introduced it as one of the ‘lenses’ in the Optic Swap system. Wikipedia defines it as ‘a device used to focus light. Unlike lenses however, zone plates use diffraction instead of refraction‘. Damn. Is that rocket science or am I just stupid? Anyway, nevermind. I was more curious about what kind of photos they can produce. Looked at some samples taken with the Lensbaby zone plate ‘lens’, I knew it’s something I’ll love! Blur! Fuzzy! Screwed up! Cool! Today’s Lensbaby Diary entry is taken using this rather bizzarre ‘lens’. I took opportunity of the long exposure (not as long as the darn pinhole though) to fire a few rounds of my Colorsplash flash using different color gels. Madness ain’t it? 😀
If you are interested, read more about zone plate here and here. Have fun!

that was the first wikipedia article that has not taught me anything at all.
Cyan & KT … yeah … I was as lost when I found out about it. Even now … I don’t know what on earth it actually means but it’s pretty fun. 😀

Thank you, Cyan. Now I don’t feel that stupid after all. 😀
