The best feeling is always when the postman comes knocking at your door with a parcel for you but you know very well you didn’t order anything lately. The feeling of excitement plus a little bit of fear (cases where you start clicking the ‘Buy Now’ button after too much beer) is just awesome.
I was handed this little parcel today and it in … something fun to add to my Lensbaby family. The Lensbaby Macro Converters! It comes in a set of 2 … an 8mm and also a 16mm one. Both can be used separately or stacked up for more closeup action. They work just like extension tubes that some of us use for closeup/macro photography but these are designed and built specially to work with the Lensbaby lenses.
Way too late to go shoot any flowers or bugs … so I did some test shots to compare the working distance and see how close I can get to the subjects. Sorry for the simple and lousy photos. I am just too tired to try get nicer shots but was desperate to give the converters a test.
Shot using the Edge80 optic with the front extended (closeup mode).
Shot with only the 8mm converter attached.
Shot with only the 16mm converter attached.
Finally … stacked both the 8mm and 16mm converters.
Check out more information about the macro converters here in Lensbaby’s website.
Hope I can sneak out to the park for some macro photography this Saturday. 😀
