It took probably 3 to 6 months to arrive but it’s finally here. A free camera strap from SmugMug! They were offering a free straps and stickers through a photography forum in the US, and I happily filled in my name for one. The stickers arrived in a month but there were no sign of the strap. I actually gave up waiting for it to arrive and today … suddenly it appeared!
The strap is pretty cool and the quality is rather close to the OpTech strap that I have. It’s made from some springy material (though not enough for the camera to be springing around) that reduces the load of the camera when you sling it on your shoulder. I’m gonna use it for my old Nikon EM that’s married to an original Lensbaby.
Okay, I swear not to buy another camera this year after this one … a red Olympus XA2!!! I had a XA2 before but it somehow died along the way. It was the common black version and today … a friend was selling off a red one and of course I jumped at the opportunity to buy it for a pretty reasonable amount at S$90. Apart from a little loss of paint at the bottom (at the battery compartment cover), the camera seesm to be in very good condition. Been eyeing for a red one for a long time but didn’t wanna pay some crazy amount on eBay for one. So this is probably a great way to end 2008 for me. Haha!
Perhaps this camera will cost me more than the S$90 too. My General Manager was actually eyeing this camera when he saw it on sale in local forum but too bad I had already confirmed buying it. So since it’s year end now … he’ll probably strike me off the bonus list (if we are getting any). Damn! This red baby is gonna cost me a month’s salary!!! Maybe I’ll go paint my spoiled old XA2 red and give it to him instead. Muwahahaha!
LOL…. i can offer you the paint… got plenty left over RED paint from Christmas project….
red red.. u still have other things red.. & white..
