To The Museum And More

After last night’s ‘dramatic’ trip to the Boat Quay area for some (most likely gone case) night shots … I was back there again today but this time … in the late morning with my family. We brought Fitzand to check out the ‘Little Explorer’s Travels‘ event at the Asians Civilisations Museum and although he wasn’t that ‘impressed’ with some of the old stuffs on display (he kept telling us ‘spooky!’ when he saw some of those exhibits like the rather scary looking colorful Chinese … ermmm … puppets/statues. 😀 Well they gave away free ice cream and that probably left him with a better impression of the event. 😛

The event showcases colourful worlds of China, India, Southeast Asia and West Asia through exhilarating performances, wonderful workshops and fun kids’ craft.

Having fun during breakfast at Indo Chine.

The happy little one with a new little bear that he got after we made a small donation to some kid raising fund for charity. We asked him if he still has enough space to sleep after adding a few of these soft toys to his ‘collection’ recently and he proudly told us that he has 25 of them (he plucked the number from thin air … he has perhaps more than that!).

Later … we brought him to check out the Singapore Flyer as he has never been on it before. The last time we got close to it was during the Chingay parade but he told me that he wanted to wait for mommy to be with us for the ride. At that time, he also made me laugh big time when he asked if we would be upside down when the capsule goes all the way up. Today … we just had to make sure he knows what goes on. 😀

It was a little early and we thought we could spend some time there and go up on the Flyer during sunset. Had an early dinner and then brought the little boss for a short walk around there and trouble began when I pointed to him … the racing tracks there (which normally becomes a ‘pedestrian only’ when no races are on). Here is what happened (a true story!) …

After a few rounds of ‘racing’ … my old head was spinning faster than the Flyer. Thank God the time was up and we had to hop onto the Flyer … thus ending the races. 😀

Fitzand stopped me on the way to the Flyer’s capsule … wanting me to take a photo of him. I was surprised but not for long …

The little one got a bit bored after a while (during the ride on the Flyer). Well … I was dying to get outta the capsule too! Not because I was bored but because very unfortunately we ended up in the same capsule as some very smelly tourists! Imagine getting ‘locked up’ with some super stinky people for like 30 minutes? Oh hell!

The day out ended with Fitzand joining a short origami lesson there. He got to make (with the staff’s help of course) a bow tie and told his mommy to glue (!!!) it onto the little bear’s head.

Am I including way too many photos in this entry? Ermm … ok ok … I shall stop here and leave you guys with some (more???!!) photos I took today. These two night shots were snapped while I was in the Flyer … and though I thought of deleting them … I managed to convince myself to keep them just to remind me of the ‘gas chamber’. LOL!
