Safe trip home

During dinner with some friends, they asked why I only blog about cameras and photography. Why are there no other things I can blog about? Haha! Yeah, I told them that I do not usually have anything (too) interesting to blog about and also I can’t really write. I’ll try to add some other stuffs in my blogging activities in the future but now … here’s one for a start.

Picked up the latest CD by Dido after dinner and I must say this new album is just as great as the earlier 2. I’m pretty attracted to the simple (yet cool) CD cover that has lots of empty space and a little astronaut right below the album title. It’s cute, ain’t it?

The album comes with 2 CDs, with 1 being an enhanced CD featuring what they call ‘Dido studio film’. In the package is also 4 photo cards with very nice photos of her in studio. She’s one of the very few female singer that I like lots and not only she’s pretty … she has great talent as well.

Someone online described this album as ‘Hauntingly beautiful & emotional’ and I must agree with him after listening to all the tracks once. I’ll not write too much now ‘coz I wanna go watch the enhanced CD before I go to bed.

Can’t decide which is my favourite track from this album but I’ll end this entry with the words from my favourite track from her previous album called ‘Sand in my shoes’. It’s the song that plays in a loop in my head whenever I’m on the flight back from vacations.

Sand in my shoes

Two weeks away it feels like the world should’ve changed
But I’m home now
And things still look the same
I think I’ll leave it till tomorrow to unpack
Try to forget for one more night
That I’m back in my flat on the road
Where the cars never stop going through the night
To real life where I can’t watch sunset
I don’t have time
I don’t have time

I’ve still got sand in my shoes
And I can’t shake the thought of you
I should get on, forget you
But why would I want to?
I know we said goodbye
Anything else would’ve been confused but
I wanna see you again

Tomorrow’s back to work and down to sanitation
Run a bath and then clear up the mess I made before I left here
Try to remind myself that I was happy here
Before I knew that I could get on a plane and fly away
From the road where the cars never stop going through the night
To a life where I can watch sunset
And take my time
Take all our time

I’ve still got sand in my shoes
And I can’t shake the thought of you
I should get on, forget you
But why would I want to?
I know we said goodbye
Anything else would’ve been confused but
I wanna see you again

I wanna see you again
I wanna see you again
Two weeks away
All it takes to change and turn me around I follow
I walked away and never said that I wanted to see you again

I’ve still got sand in my shoes
And I can’t shake the thought of you
I should get on, forget you
But why would I want to?
I know we said goodbye
Anything else would’ve been confused but
I wanna see you again

  1. I like dido too! I’ve her debut album and think I should get safe trip home since you highly recommended. 🙂

  2. Cyan, you need to get all 3 albums. Like what you told me when I was deciding on which Blackbird, Fly to buy … since already buying two, why not all three? 😀
