One of the things that all parents wouldn’t wanna hear is when their kiddos go ‘I don’t wanna sleep yet!’ during bedtime. Fitzand said that to me just now and instead of the usual ‘tactics’ like telling him a story, reading him a book, telling him that I’ll bring him out to play on Saturday etc … I asked if he’d like me to take a photo of him … since he was wearing a mask (see below). He immediately agreed and I was a little surprised (as he usually tells me ‘daddy … camera away!’).

So I grabbed my Instax Mini and the moment I walked back into his room … he added … ‘I wanna take photo!’. Gosh! I fell into his trap! He wanted to be the one taking photo! Of course I refused to end up as his model and luckily some quick thinking turned things around and soon he was taking self-portraits. Hahaha! Yeah!

He chose the ‘locations’ and props himself.

As the price for such instant fun ain’t cheap … I made very sure I helped him hold the camera and roughly look through the viewfinder to make sure he is in the frame … and then let him press the shutter button. Glad the shutter button is placed in front! He eventually finished all the remaining 8 shots in the pack of film *sweat* and was asking for more. I had to tell him that I’ll bring him to ‘Kor kor’ (brother) Jimmy’s shop (aka ThirtySix) to buy more film during the weekend. Phew! He accepted that explanation and sat there for a while until all the photos were developed and then asked for his milk before falling asleep. Hmm. Instax causes sleepiness!

Now it is time for me to hit the bed. No … I do not need Instax to help me do so. Goodnight world!
