Thank you, grandpa

This weird cyclop looking camera Canon/Bell & Howell Dial 35 is a half frame camera from the 1960s. I inherited one from my dad who got it as a present from my late grandpa who bought it on a business trip in Japan. My dad probably didn’t run any roll through it, since he told me he did not have any photo taken with this camera. Well my dad is the type of person who ain’t into these stuffs at all, so it came as no surprise. Unfortunately, the unit that I inherited was dead. Physically it was as good as new but the battery left in the camera for tens and tens of years … leaked and the internals was damaged. 🙁 I swear that Fitzand’s gonna inherit way better condition cameras from me when I’m dead.

I eventually found this replacement some time ago, and only got to run a roll of very very long expired 12 exposure Kodak Gold thru it. It was all ultra random shots that I decided not to post them individually. Here are some of the photos that I choose to show that this camera still works great! I’ll definitely run a proper roll through it soon.

The exposure meter seems to be working perfectly! Yahooooooooo!!!

  1. I always thought this camera looks way cool but got the olympus pen ee2 in the end and thought one is enough. The other half frame I’ve been eyeing is the canon demi ee17. Why don’t I inherit any camera from
    my parents. 🙁

  2. Oh EE17 eh? I wanted that too (before). But now I’m too broke for one. 🙁 Well that’s the only thing I probably inherit from my parents. 😀 Too bad it was dead. I didn’t own any camera until I was about 20, when I bought my first point n shoot (film) for a short trip. If only my dad kept it in good condition … and I would have had lots of fun when I was young. 🙁

  3. The only camera my mom left me was a minolta SRT101b, and i was ass enough to sell it away. because it was the heaviest camera ive ever used in my life.
