Came across someone selling a Russian Zenit f2.0 58mm lens in mint condition and he was throwing in a Zenit 412 for free because he claims that there was a problem with the mirror. The mirror was stuck at the down position. I took the risk and bought it for only S$50 (about US$35) … hoping that I can resurrect it (despite knowing that I ain’t trained in these stuffs) and amazingly … I did!
So what did I do? Hahaha! I don’t believe it myself. After trying to fire the shutter a few times, looking into the camera for a few minutes … I saw a piece of metal thingie beside the mirror in the cam. Not knowing what on earth it is for, I put in my fat finger and tried to push it a little … to figure out how the logic works. Hmm. Push and push … look and look … cock the shutter … and … tada!!!! The mirror now works perfectly and the shutter speed seems (to sound) okay! Yipeee!!!
The camera came with an ugly blue bag/pouch that reminds me of the one that came with my Horizon camera.
The camera is in very very good condition except for a little patch at the back. I’ll go find some batteries for it and hopefully do some test shots this coming weekend. Hope it will stay in good health and be a happy cammie in my dry cabi.
JEALOUS!
Such a chubby little camera. I want one too :<
@Bone : Yeah the cam is damn cute. Feels like pinching it. LOL! But … it is one solid machine! Pretty heavy too.
Well, it’s russian..
It’s very unexpected. :}
Love the film winding lever. so interesting.
ok its so fat and round and cute!
Looks really smart!
@sumlom : I hope you are not talking about me. 😛
@Ta : It’s kinda cute. The problem now is finding compatible batteries. Otherwise I’ll just not use the meter. 😀
Zenit trademark fat knob and winder. nice.
haha you got it fixed?
you will now be my camera doctor – Congrats
@Mijonju : Yeah! I just poked around near the mirror and somehow dislodged a piece of metal thingie that probably got stuck and caused the mirror to be stuck. Now it works fine.
@peter : You have any cam for me to operate on? 😀
So ugly! Looks like the Instax 210! hahahahaaaa
@cyanwater : The real thing looks sleek and cute. Really. Way nicer than the Instax. Haha.
Intax have no soul. Well, in my mind. 😐
WAH! so clever!
waw thats so yummiE!
i want that blue bag. 😛
@irorus : I ain’t clever. Just that I’ve got itchy fingers. 😀
@renaldy : If I decide to keep the camera after a couple of rolls, I’ll send you the blue bag. 😀
btw, I’ve got a spoilt Nikon compact digi. Which i tried to “play” around with it.. but can’t even get pass opening the screws. You wanna?
@irorus : Can it even be switched on? 😀 If you are planning to dump it, just dump it at ThirtySix. I’ll pick it up someday soon and try play with it. 😀
Can switch on .. but LCD black, take picture also black. But view photos on the card can. Yeah, it was planned for the dumps. 36 sounds like a good dumping ground. lol.
@irorus : Wow! Hahaha! Means super goner this one. Dump it at ThirtySix if you happen to be there (collecting your LCA Instant Back). 😛 Thanks a lot. 😀
