A Kiddy New Year

As expected, most of the photos I took during the trip to Malaysia during the Chinese New Year were photos of Fitzand and his cousin sister, Zaydeen. I am sure they had a great time playing (and fighting!) together, munching lots of cookies and sweets, playing with fire crackers and of course clowning around with my family members. I came back with a stack of snapshots of them and after the kiddos from the childcare came visiting this morning, Fitzand fell asleep a while ago and I found time to go through the photos and here they are …

There was practically no chance to really rest during the 5 days there at my parents’ place. With two active kiddos who can’t seem to sync their nap time and parents who are always trying to make us grow fatter than necessary … we spent more time eating and drinking than sleep. The whole house was a little chaotic at times with kids running around playing but the joy on their faces makes all the noise and sweat disappear.

Fitzand : Mmmmm … the ice cream tastes great! Heavenly yummilicious!
Zaydeen : Hmpt! Stop tempting me. Grrrr!

When the night falls, the fun doesn’t end (yet). The kids were given the opportunity to play with some fire crackers outside. They were both initially pretty excited but afraid … but got used to it after a few minutes. It wasn’t easy trying to take a few snapshots of them playing in the dark (the darn light outside my parents’ place decided to give up working the day before) and at the same time … lighting the sparklers for them and ensuring they don’t get too close to each other. I could only use my Sony point-and-shoot camera for these because any bigger/heavier camera would be too clumsy to be used in that situation.

Here’s a short little video clip I took while they were having fun with the sparklers …

We didn’t have to set the alarm clock. Every morning, my little lion will start banging the cymbals and wake up the entire neighbourhood. My brother who is usually down with a hangover in the morning must have wished he could shove some play dough into his ears and sleep til noon. Muwahahaha!

Fitzand will wanna bring his little cymbals along whenever where is a lion dance performance. There he will bang it like there’s no tomorrow along with the lion dance troupe. LOL!

Teachers and kiddos from the childcare came visiting this morning and were given lots of sweets and yummies … and had a great time. Their favourite part of the visit? It has to be the short fun time they had in Fitzand’s bedroom that’s flooded with toys.

The kids gave us all a short performance. You won’t find Fitzand in the photo because he pulled out of the performance last minute. Guess he doesn’t wanna perform at home. LOL.

Fitzand’s lion dance ‘head’ was the highlight of the day!

Feeding his buddies with yummies. 😀

His other buddies kept out of reach of his buddies. 😛

Chaos in the bedroom

They brought along the coolest Chinese New Year card I’ve seen. Autographed by each and every one of them …

Guess we all had a wonderful Chinese New Year this year. 🙂
