4am Trouble …

I’m in big trouble! I arrived home at almost 1am from a short trip to Malaysia and now it’s almost 4am and I’m wide awake! Tomorrow is (argh!) Monday and I’m gonna be half dead at work but I just can’t sleep (yet). Some wine might help but I am staying away from booze for a day or two since I’ve just recovered from a bad tummy problem. Nevermind. I’ll just add a blog entry and post a couple of photos I took in Malaysia.

Ever had such situation when you see something you would like to photograph but realise you either don’t have your camera with you or brought the wrong camera? Well take a look at this photo …

It might look like just a simple photo of a wall, a door and some shadows … but I really missed several opportunities to photograph it. It’s not in some exotic place … but just in my old home in Malaysia. I remember a few times when I was back there visiting my folks, I saw this pretty cool pattern cast on the wall/door at certain time of the day … and it’s not every day that the sun is strong enough to cast that strong (and long) shadows. The first couple of times when I saw a similar sight … I had only some very challenging-to-use cameras like the Diana or Supersampler with me … and when I had my digital camera with me … the shadows were pretty ‘weak’ and were not ‘pretty’.

This trip … a miracle happened! I was watching TV with my compact camera in my pocket and suddenly … tada~ … what I’ve always wanted to capture appeared in front of my eyes! Hmm … I sound like I just photographed some aliens in their spacecraft eh?

Ok … I’ll go force my eyes to close and sleep … but before that … I’ll leave you with a couple of snapshots of Fitzand eating durians when we were in Malaysia. He loves durians! I remember a couple of weeks ago when we were at the market (here in Singapore) … he stopped right in front of the durian stall and told me that he wants to eat durian. Of course I got my wife to buy some for him that day and we were all laughing at how he enjoys eating them. I ain’t too big a durian fan though.

Ok folks … goodnite! I’ll update again tomorrow with some pinhole photos I took in Malaysia if the rolls are not completely blank.
