A friend recently managed to convince me to try painting. It’s something I’ve always wanted to try but never got to start til now. So blindly, I stocked up some tubes of acrylic, brushes and stuff … and decided to share the progress of my first disaster with painting …

Decided to do a ‘making of’ blog post a little too late. I had already painted (yeah, can’t you see I’m trying to paint?) the entire background red and had the cat (yeah … yeah … you can laugh) in white painted on. A plain red canvas will probably be a better one to start this ‘making of’ thingie. Anyway, fuck it. Just like everything in life … it’s too late.

It’s way past midnight, baby Fitzand & his mom are asleep and the darn maid ain’t coming into my study room to mop the floor and pissing me off. I decided to give the boring red background some ‘life’ and gave it a messy look. Cool ain’t it? Stop laughing at my cat!!!!! Compared to the previous one, looks like my cat has lost some weight eh? I’ll give it some milk in the morning.

I’ve had some people asking me if the version on the 17th July was the completed work. Hmm … do you guys really think I’m that artistic, trying to pass off a painting of a ghost as one that’s of a cat … or you think I’m that bad that I can’t draw a proper (or at least a bit more proper) cat? 😀 Okay, so today I made some ‘progress’. I made my cat fatter (I’m good at doing that to myself too!) and painted some basic stuffs like the nose and eyes (what? eyes too big?) … and also gave it a fish so that it won’t lose weight again. Waiting for the paint to dry before adding more details.

Hours later after my last ‘update’ … here’s a latest version with more details which are still in the initial stages of adding them in. Pretty challenging doing the details … pray for me … pray that I’ll not kill my cat.

After days of working on this 貓nalisa painting, I have decided to abandon it … and replace it with a similar one. Why? I got fed up working on it after a while … there’s something that just ain’t right … something that I don’t know. So I trashed it and began working on a new one … updates coming soon to a new blog post soon.

貓nalisa has left the building at almost midnight, 19th July 2008, leaving behind 8 tubes of acrylic paint, 5 brushes, a palette and a very confused guy. All donations can me made through PayPal.
