On leave today to send my car for servicing as well as bringing Fitzand for another visit to the zoo. On the way back, decided to mount my R72 infrared filter for a test shot to see how well the Ricoh GX100 can perform when it comes to taking infrared photos. Unfortunately the weather was pretty bad today and I only managed one decent shot handheld. Exposures for the test shoots ranged from 1/40 to 1 second (yeah, imagine the weather). I find the GX100 works pretty well for infrared, though it’s quite a challenge trying to shoot at ISO80 (noise sucks at high ISOs on this cam!) handheld on day where the sun is working on ‘weak mode’.
Click on the below thumbnail for the only test shot I was satisfied with. I’m unable to display full size here as my blog layout go bonkers when I post images exceeding 600px wide.
