It was a crazy thing to do, I know. Bringing my giant (and weird looking) Fujifilm FP-14, an old passport photo taking camera for a stroll in Clarke Quay attracted way too much attention. There were some who walked past, stopped and turned back to stare. Thank God the police didn’t come running after me, thinking it’s some mini rocket launcher.
First time testing this big baby outdoors and it was pretty fun. There were 6 shots left in that last pack of film, and guess what … I wasted one shot because I was stupid enough to forget that the ‘Lock’ button was to lock the back cover and not to lock the camera from operating. So 1 shot died.
As for the rest, I tried several timings for the development of the photos and found that 60 seconds worked best on a not too hot day.
Soon after a couple of shots … tragedy struck. While I was counting down the seconds while waiting for a shot to develop, some bitch friend called from Malaysia to ask if it’s okay to bring those Chinese dumplings into Singapore for her friends. I took the call and screwed up my countdown and the shot was way underexposed. Duh! I hate dumplings!
