I spent the last few nights listening to the tracks on the CDs and watching the DVD before going to bed. It’s strange how I sometimes buy CDs and leave them in my drawer and forget them til some time later.
It took me a while to track down this box set from Nirvana because buying one online would mean I’ve to pay shipping charges. This 3 CD + 1 DVD box set contains a combination of gritty home recordings, demos, b-sides and outtakes by Nirvana and I’ve loving it lots.
I love listening to raw recordings and this CD set promises lots of them. Strange but true … the DVD even features them singing the song ‘Seasons In The Sun’ (yeah it’s THAT song!) which is pretty amusing yet spooky when Kurt starts singing ‘Goodbye my friend, it’s hard to die’.
Some friends were surprised that I love loud songs like these and I think Dr. Dre is cool … it’s strange. What do they think I love? Bee Gees or ABBA? Duh!
If you love Nirvana and have yet to own this box set … go grab it now and don’t waste your hard-earned money on the new Guns n Roses album. 😛
