Diana F+ Lens Adaptors?

Lomography probably got tired of making more variations of the Diana F+ clones for a while and decided to make something a little different. Lens adaptors to use the Diana F+ lenses on SLRs/DSLRs! I’ll grab one of  these if they do have an adaptor for the Micro 4/3 … for my Olympus E-P1. Now I’m tempted to go DIY one for the Micro 4/3 mount! For now … it comes in Canon EOS and Nikon F mount only … and costs US$12 each.

I’ll be a little worried using these on a DLSR though. On windy days … dust might easily get into the camera body and pepper the sensor! Hmm.

Seems Lomography has another half a million ideas up their sleeves to wipe out every cent in our wallets. I’ll give this a miss.

  1. Hi everyone!
I’ve got a canon EOS 500D and the adapter to the diana lens and also the diana super wide angle lens and diana fisheye lens. But when I take a picture, it looks like a normal one. I see no effects! Does this really work with my DSLR Canon EOS 500D? I think i just spoiled money because the pictures I take with diana lens are all normal! It looks like a picture taken with normal canon lens! Any help, please? Sorry about the trouble…

  2. @John : yes you won’t be able too see too much of the effect as compared to using them on a diana camera. This is due to the fact that the lenses are meant for a larger format (ie medium format film). Using it on a DSLR with cropped factor takes away much of the ‘magic’. A full frame DSLR might give just a little better results only. All these are actually highlighted in Lomo’s site for the product (the adaptor). Hope this helps.

  3. 🙁 Just tried this adaptor, a 38mm lens and my 1000D and a little deflated as i didn’t read too much before buying.
So……..now going to have to buy a Diana. Don’t tell the wife !!

  4. @Scott : Awww … I bet you are not the only one who is having this problem. I’ve heard of many who thought the lens will do good on a cropped factor DSLR. Anyway … get a Diana. We promise not to tell. 😛
