A cheap plastic camera doesn’t have to be naked and ugly! Here are some of my works on various ‘toy’ cameras …
Stardust La Sardina : The most girly design I’ve done … a La Sardina for a friend.
Summer Holga : A last minute design for a friend …
Diana’s Butts : A fun design (with a crappy name) Diana+ made specially for ThirtySix’s 1st anniversary.
Woodpecker, Fly : A ‘wooden’ version of the famous Blackbird, Fly camera … made specially for those guys in Superheadz. Camera sponsored by 8storeytree.
Pop Diana+ : A slightly different approach compared to the ‘Woodpecker, Fly’ and Holga cameras I worked on. This time, I decided on a rather ‘raw’ & ‘pop’ look for the design.
Playground Holga : A crazy idea which turned out to be one of my personal favourite.
Woody Holga : My first ever attempt at dressing up a camera. Sold it off in a charity sale.
Postage-free Holga : A stamp covered Holga with a coat of clear paint. It was pretty challenging working with those old stamps as they were very fragile.

nice! love ur woody. 😀
LV HOLGA!!! hahahaa!!!
Wow, you did such a good job on beautifying those cameras!
I hope I’m not causing too much trouble by asking how you did it. Did you glue the stamps on directly? Is it just paper that the first camera has been wrapped in?
Am so awfully envious of your collection. You’re so blessed! (:
Kim, thank you. The Woody Holga was made using some adhesive sheets I found in a DIY store. These material are meant for furnitures etc, thus they are pretty durable. If you were to use paper, I’m sure you’ll need a layer of clear paint to protect it, else it’s gonna be messy.
As for the version with stamps, yes I glued the stamps directly on the Holga. I carefully applied few layers of clear paint to protect it once it was done.
It ain’t that hard, really. All you need is lots of patience and some careful planning … else the Holga’s gonna be in a mess. LOL!
Stay tuned for my most challenging design ever …. it’s 70% done now and I’ll post photos of it in a week or two.
Oh, I will indeed stay! Thanks much for the reply; will embark operation on my Holga as soon as possible!
Anticipate the unveiling of your concoction, eagerly. I do like your website very much, and am mooring over your collection of cameras – am ever so green! (:

ten10, thanks. Sorry but the playground holga is sold. They were all sold during a charity sale not too long ago.
i love the stamps but the playground holga is amazing! are you still customizing?
Diana,
Thanks. Hey you are having the same name as my favourite camera! LOL! 😀
I have not been customizing Holgas for a while because I’m dedicating most of my time to my little boy. I’m working on a Holga 135BC though. It’s been quite a while but I’m trying to finish it in a month’s time.
OH MY GOSH HOW DID YOU DO THAT! how did you do the wood one? what did you use?
did you cut out like exactly the measurement?
oh yeah im singaporean where can i buy holgas? jhaha how much was urs?
li en, I get my Holgas from 8storeytree (http://8storeytree.com/store)
I used some self-adhesive material from the DIY stores for the wooden one. I did not cut exactly but used several small pieces to make it.
OHMYGOD!! would you do customizations? :DDDDD
OMg!? A wooden blackbird?! WOW! Love the black bird and the lego holga! Super cool!
@kira-kira : Thanks. I’d love to do customizations but I seriously need to find more time in life to do those. Haha.
@Karen : Thank you
BBF damn nice..
Was the lego one difficult to do? Where did you get your lego pieces from? How long did it take you?
OH and the stamps one. how many stamps did you need? and you used superglue to stick them down right?
@Su-Lyn : The Lego one was the toughest to do. I bought some 1×1 lego blocks from a shop in Novena Square (now closed) and took me about half a month (on and off) to arrange and stick them. As for the stamp one … I don’t know how many was there. Haha. I had many stamps, so that wasn’t a problem for me. I used those UHU glue instead of superglue for the stamp one. It’s only after completion, a few layers of clear paint was applied.
cyanwater’s furry camera is so cute : >
@red : Yeah. That’s a very cosy design.
I enjoy this site, it is worth me coming back
